A BAN on celebrities or cartoon characters to promote junk food is among a raft of measures demanded today by MPs to take on the obesity crisis afflicting young people. Ministers should also consider extending the sugary drink levy to milkshakes and slapping VAT on cakes, along with stringent bans on promoting unhealthy products in shops and on TV, a Commons committee demanded.
